September 2026 – Three Doctoral Candidates Join and First Major Training Event Held in Vienna
September saw DyeAnotherWay welcome three more Doctoral Candidates to the network. DC6 (Sasindu Lakshani Silva from Sri Lanka) joined Beneficiary 8, DC11 (Maite Erdociain Pérez from Spain) joined Beneficiary 5 and DC12 (Phuong Linh Nguyen from Vietnam) joined Beneficiary 3. The consortium warmly welcomes all three and looks forward to their contributions to the project’s research and training activities.
At the end of the month, the consortium gathered in Vienna for its first major combined meeting and training event, hosted by Beneficiary 1, TU Wien. A particular highlight was the Mid-Term Review, for which the consortium was honoured to welcome the project’s REA Project Officer in person. The event also encompassed the 12-Month Meeting, Scientific Workshop 1, the Kick-Off Workshop, and Transferable Skills Seminar 1 on Sustainable Technologies. Bringing these activities together provided an excellent opportunity for the growing network to meet in person, reflect on progress during the project’s first year, and take part in its first scientific and transferable-skills training activities.
July 2026 – DC5 Joines the Team
DyeAnotherWay further strengthened its doctoral cohort with DC5, León Kienle (Germany), who joined Beneficiary 1, TU Wien. The consortium is pleased to welcome him to the network and looks forward to his contributions to the project’s research and training activities.

May 2026 – Interviews Continue and DC2 Welcomed
The recruitment process continues into May. So far more than 1800 applications have reached the consortium, with roughly 75% coming from beyond Europe’s borders. The consortium is very pleased to have reached so many budding young scientists from all over the world.
Also in May, DyeAnotherWay welcomed DC2, Audrée Lebon (France), who joined Beneficiary 1. The consortium is delighted to welcome her to the network and looks forward to her contributions to the project’s research and training activities.

April 2026 – TU Wien at the Lange Nacht der Forschung and Six Month Meeting
Lange Nacht der Forschung
DyeAnotherWay consortium held its six‑month project meeting in an online format. The meeting was well attended, with all beneficiaries represented alongside three associated partners. Holding the meeting online helped minimise travel requirements and, in turn, reduce the project’s environmental footprint, in line with its sustainability objectives.
At the meeting, the consortium regretfully acknowledged two changes to the consortium personel. Maximiliano Ibaceta left Beneficiary 3, Vienna Textile Lab and Sinah Tönjes departed from Beneficiary 7, Bio Base Europe Pilot Plant. We thank them for their valuable contributions to the network and wish them every success as they move on to new endeavours.
Also this month, the DyeAnotherWay team at TU Wien took part in Austria’s national Lange Nacht der Forschung, contributing to a highly successful public outreach event. The evening set new records, with over 1,000 visitors attending activities at the chemistry campus alone. Nationwide, the event attracted more than 192,000 visitors, and the consortium was proud to be part of this unique opportunity to engage the interested public with science and research.
March 2026 – DC3 Joins and Amendment Finalised
Nataila Kastana joined TU Wien
DyeAnotherWay further strengthened its doctoral cohort with DC3, Natalia Kastana (Greece), who started her doctoral research at Beneficiary 1, TU Wien. The consortium is pleased to welcome her and looks forward to her contributions to the project’s research activities.
Also this month, the amendment formalising the termination of GALAB’s involvement in the DyeAnotherWay project was successfully completed and signed. This step ensured the project’s contractual framework accurately reflected the updated consortium composition and allowed activities to continue in line with the Grant Agreement.
February 2026 – First Doctoral Candidates Join the Project
DyeAnotherWay welcomed its first Doctoral Candidates. DC1, Beatriz Carneiro (Portugal), joined Beneficiary 4, University of Hamburg, while DC4, Javeria Ibrahim (Pakistan), joined Beneficiary 7, Bio Base Europe Pilot Plant. The consortium warmly welcomes them and wishes them the very best as they embark on this exciting research and training adventure.

DyeAnotherWay officially started on 1 October 2025, marking the beginning of its operational phase. Alongside the meeting, the project was introduced to a wider audience through a public panel discussion at the University of Helsinki’s Think Corner. The kick‑off activities concluded with a visit to the Helsinki factory of Associated Partner 4, Marimekko, offering participants valuable insights into industrial practice and application contexts.
September 2025 – First Job openings Published
