May 2026 – Interviews Continue

April 2026 – TU Wien at the Lange Nacht der Forschung and Six Month Meeting
DyeAnotherWay consortium held its six‑month project meeting in an online format. The meeting was well attended, with all beneficiaries represented alongside three associated partners. Holding the meeting online helped minimise travel requirements and, in turn, reduce the project’s environmental footprint, in line with its sustainability objectives.
At the meeting, the consortium regretfully acknowledged two changes to the consortium personel. Maximiliano Ibaceta left Beneficiary 3, Vienna Textile Lab and Sinah Tönjes departed from Beneficiary 7, Bio Base Europe Pilot Plant. We thank them for their valuable contributions to the network and wish them every success as they move on to new endeavours.
Also this month, the DyeAnotherWay team at TU Wien took part in Austria’s national Lange Nacht der Forschung, contributing to a highly successful public outreach event. The evening set new records, with over 1,000 visitors attending activities at the chemistry campus alone. Nationwide, the event attracted more than 192,000 visitors, and the consortium was proud to be part of this unique opportunity to engage the interested public with science and research.
DyeAnotherWay further strengthened its doctoral cohort with DC3, Natalia Kastana (Greece), who started her doctoral research at Beneficiary 1, TU Wien. The consortium is pleased to welcome her and looks forward to her contributions to the project’s research activities.
Also this month, the amendment formalising the termination of GALAB’s involvement in the DyeAnotherWay project was successfully completed and signed. This step ensured the project’s contractual framework accurately reflected the updated consortium composition and allowed activities to continue in line with the Grant Agreement.
February 2026 – First Doctoral Candidates Join the Project
DyeAnotherWay welcomed its first Doctoral Candidates. DC1, Beatriz Carneiro (Portugal), joined Beneficiary 4, University of Hamburg, while DC4, Javeria Ibrahim (Pakistan), joined Beneficiary 7, Bio Base Europe Pilot Plant. The consortium warmly welcomes them and wishes them the very best as they embark on this exciting research and training adventure.
December 2025 – First Doctoral Candidate Interviews Conducted
This month, DyeAnotherWay advanced its recruitment process with the first interviews of potential Doctoral Candidates. This step marked an important milestone in building the project’s researcher cohort and supporting the implementation of its training and research programme.
DyeAnotherWay officially started on 1 October 2025, marking the beginning of its operational phase. The project kick‑off meeting took place on 27–29 October 2025 in Helsinki, hosted by Beneficiary 3, the University of Helsinki. Alongside the meeting, the project was introduced to a wider audience through a public panel discussion at the University of Helsinki’s Think Corner. The kick‑off activities concluded with a visit to the Helsinki factory of Associated Partner 4, Marimekko, offering participants valuable insights into industrial practice and application contexts.
September 2025 – First Job openings Published

June 2025 – Grant Agreement Signed and Project Enters into Force
The Grant Agreement for DyeAnotherWay was officially signed. This milestone marks the formal entry into force of the project and the start of its implementation phase, setting the foundation for the planned research, innovation, and collaboration activities.
